NEIRO, On Ensemble's first DVD, features performances from the group's 2005 concert series of the same title. Tuvan throat singing, koto, electric guitar, turntable, western drum kit, voice, Japanese dance, bamboo flutes, percussion and taiko come together in a complicated mix of influences. Traditional Japanese aesthetics mingle with eclectic, contemporary music. The result is an innovative vocabulary that "bends and refreshes the imagination." (CD Baby, August 2005)
