Featuring four of the most promising young taiko artists the On Ensemble combines seemingly disparate artistic elements into a cohesive whole. Musical influences ranging from jazz to electronic come together with the aural power of the taiko (Japanese drum) and the visual aesthetic of Japanese dance. The result is an innovative and unique performance that cannot be easily classified or forgotten. On Ensemble seeks to continually expand the artistic possibilities of North American taiko and share this vision with new audiences.   Full Length Concert A full length 90 minute performance of original work featuring taiko, overtone singing, bamboo flutes, koto (Japanese zither), voice and Japanese folk dance. Suitable for a variety of venues, this concert can be produced with a minimum of technical requirements. Mini Concert 30-60 minute performance of the ensemble's unique combination of music, taiko and dance. Suitable for indoor and outdoor venues, music and dance festivals, cultural events, guest performances, schools and other events. Performed by 3 or 4 members of the ensemble. Short Performance 14-45 minute performance of original work. Suitable for a variety of events including: conventions, festivals and cultural events. Performed by 2 or 3 members of the ensemble.
